It’s a bold aim, but a brilliant one. This website Forvo is a place where you can find thousands of words in Arabic with a button to click and hear them pronounced. It will be very useful to beginners who are getting used to the Arabic script and to recognising letters within words. It’s perhaps most useful to approach by categories or tags, so you could dip into Arabic fruits for example. If you find the Arabic script very tiny and hard to read, don’t forget you can press ctrl and + to increase the font size on your browser (on Windows).
So far Forvo has over 55,000 words and phrases in Arabic, though I’m not sure how easy all of them are to navigate by theme. The best bits I’ve found for teaching are:
* Egyptian Arabic phrases
* set phrases and greetings
* forms of the verb أكل (to eat)
